Frankfurt sausage is a dry sausage from Frankfurt in Germany. It is made from chopped and seasoned pork meat with garlic and spices, such as pepper, thyme and bay leaf. The meat is then wrapped in a pork rind and left to dry for several weeks or months. Frankfurt sausage is known for its distinctive flavor and its pronounced garlic taste. Frankfurt sausage is very caloric, it is not suitable in case of overweight. It provides very similar iron and zinc.
